ZX Spectrum 128k R Tape Loading Error The amount of times my 8 year old self was haunted by the message 'R Tape Loading Error' is actually criminal. The ZX Spectrum 128k tape loader was my very first computer- and maybe due to its primitive nature, the reliability was a little, let's say... off. My parents bought it when I was approximately aged 3, however why I would use it at this age is completely beyond me. Apparently I used to pull it out from the behind the sofa, plug it into the mains, plug the adapter into the TV set and at least get the blurry start up screen on. Flash Fiction- Gaslight

 "There", she said, "how was that?" "Same as usual," he replied, "shi..." "Don't say that word!" she interrupted. "I'm sick of that word!!!" He sat there, paralysed from the neck down- old age and multiple sclerosis had seen to him. He could no longer move a muscle, yet sadly, his razor like, acrid, spiteful speech still remained. She spooned the food into his mealy mouth, dribble falling onto his arm.  She'd dealt with these 'remarks' or purely put, atom bombs, that were delivered on a minutely basis for 62 years. He'd provided a home- a good one, and they never had to worry about money- but to her that was a bare minimum. They were isolated in the countryside. I gave away my guitar

 All I ever wanted since I was young was a guitar. I was, in truth, in awe of musicians, especially guitarists. They made it look so easy- the ability to evoke such emotional change across millions of people- but of course, I knew, like thousands of others, that actually learning to play a musical instrument is actually incredibly tough.  The hours of practice, dedication, not worrying about making mistakes- the sheer pig headedness needed in order to continue when you seem to be going nowhere.  Then one day I actually acquired a guitar. Now was my moment. Now I would learn. Now I would be in a band. Now I would be playing to a stadium audience... well not quite. But at least I might be able to strum a few chords? Instead of treading the proper route- eg paying to get lessons from a qualified professional (keyword there... paying lol)- I decided that the online based learning route was the one for me (free of charge).
